ActiveX Controls in a document template

B

Bob

After creating a 2 page form,(not a userform) template
that contains 3 commandbuttons and 17 groups of 3
optionbuttons with VBA code to do basic addition
calculations I saved the template. When I open a new
document using that template it takes about 80 seconds to
bring it up. I've got a fast processor and lots of memory
so the box isn't the problem. Any thoughts from anyone.

Hi Bob,

some background information would help:

1) Version of Word?
2) Macro security setting?
3) When you open the template, directly, how long does it
take?
4) Are these ActiveX controls (I'm assuming you used the
Control Toolbox) in-line with the text or floating
5) Perhaps most significant: do you have anti-virus software
installed that first checks any documents you're opening into
Word?
