ActiveX & Edit in DataSheet

After attempting resolution using the advice from other threads in this forum
to no avail; I need additional suggestions.

I am running Proj Server 2007; Sharepoint 2007, IE 7.0 and when I attempt to
Edit in Datasheet I receive the following error:

"The list cannot be displayed in Datasheet view for one or more of the
following reasons: A datasheet component compatible with Windows SharePoint
Services is not installed, your browser does not support ActiveX controls, or
support for ActiveX controls is disabled."

I have verified this site is in my trusted sites and that the "Initialize
and Script ActiveX" is checked to Prompt.

Thanks~

I had the same problem in clients with Office 2003, but never in a Office
2007 client. Maybe the answer is that it only works with Office 2007?
Hope this helps

This problem can occur when there us a problem with the office client
installation. Try "repairing" the office installation on your
desktop.
