ActiveX Error?

I began getting this error not too long ago ... it seemed to have just
appeared one day and i'm not sure why. If i click "yes" then the form appears
normally - if i click "no", then the form looses the text area of the message.

Any ideas???

"This form contains an ActiveX control which may harm your computer (unsafe
for initialization). Be certain you turst the source. Do you want to load the
ActiveX Control?"

Outlook version and build number from Help | About?

What control is actually in use on that form to display the text area?

Did you change or add an email signature lately. I have found that in
Outlook 2002/2003 that when you use Word to edit an email signature and add
an image to the signature and Word is set as the default HTML editor then
this can happen.

In my case I also get the ActiveX warning. By Building the signature
without using word the problem went away.

I suppose this could also happen if you were to use stationary that has an
ActiveX control embedded in it but that's just a guess.

Thanks Jim - that seems to be excately what the problem is. I can open up
forms that I made without problems now, however, forms that are shared and
created by someone else still give me the active x error (but seems that no
one but me recieves the error message) . Is it possile that their signiture
is causing problems (assuming of course that they have a siginutre attached
to the form)

Megan - I would bet that there is something attached to the form. I believe
shared forms get a cached copy on the local machine. You might want to try
deleting this copy and let it get recreated. I would also look at a blank
form on another users PC without auto-adding a signature to see if ther is
anything added in the way of controls. You might missing a custom control
or the certificate for the control might be corrupted. I suspect it's the
cached copy that is the problem but this is just a guess. Try looking in
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp and it subdirs.

Also if you're using WordMail check to see whether the email settings in
Word are allowing Smart Tags to go out in email messages (Tools | Options |
General | Email Options). Turning that off got rid of an ActiveX warning in
one case for me.
