ActiveX Questions

Is there a way of detecting if an ActiveX Control is installed on a machine
or if an ActiveX Control is required before installing an application on one
of my teachers machines.

When an educator sees something they like that we have developed and that
application uses an Active X component, they at times have difficulty
installing the application without my assistance. Is there a way for me to
check whhat is installed in the machine before the application is actually
inserted?

Since our school district is over 1500 square miles so you can see how
difficult it is for me to get around.

Thanks in advance;

There are ways (you can check the registry to ensure that the entries for
the specific control exist, for instance), but your best bet might be to get
Installer software that'll let you package your application up, together
with any controls required.

Depending on how you set up the installation package, if the control(s)
already exist on the machine, you can overwrite them only if your version is
newer, or you can always overwrite them.
