ACTIVEX & UPDATE LINKS PROMPTS

I WANT TO Control the startup prompt for updating links.

I DONT WANT TO UPDATE LINKS OR BE PROMPTED TO UP DATE
LINKS. I ONLY WANT TO UPDATE LINKS WHEN I WANT TO

THE SAME THING GOES FOR THE ACTIVEX STARTUP PROMPT.THE
ONLY THING I CAN SEE ABOUT THIS PROMPT IS IN INTERNET
OPTIONS. THIS DOES NOT PREVENT THE PROMPT IN EXCEL. NOT
ONLY THAT BUT I DON'T HAVE ANY ACTIVEX IN THE WORKBOOK (I
THINK)

If you're using xl2002+, you can control the behavior of the links via:

Edit|links|Startup Prompt button.

In xl2k and below, you could have a helper workbook that only serves one
purpose--to open the other workbook with the links set to open the way you want.

I don't know about the ActiveX stuff.
