I am getting the following error message when retrieving some messages in
Outlook.

"Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on thiis
page"

I have enabled ActiveX controls in IE v6 under security settings but am
still getting the same error. I have also checked the internet zones in the
registry and they are set correctly.

Any ideas?

If you mean outlook express ;

from tools menu;
security tab
Virus protection Section
then select "ınternet zone"
if you select "restricted sites zone" you may see below message.

When I try to login to my work network using an ssl extender, I need activex
to sign in but in my windows vista premium os it keeps failing because it
says I need to be the administator to install the activex. I am the admin on
the computer but it will NOT let me use/install the active x to sign on to
the extened network. Any ideas/suggestion.

Maybe you know the answer to this puzzler. My organization is having it's
10th anniversary this year and I've created a logo for it, saved as a low-res
..gif. Our ED would like everyone to use this in their signatures and I've
read the Microsoft instructions on how to do it and several of us have
successfully added this image. Two people are getting ActiveX errors, both
different errors. For one person, I created her sig and inserted the image
and in the signature editor, it shows up fine. When starts a new message, she
got an ActiveX error message. I changed her security settings, like you
described below, and she doesn't get the message anymore but in her
signature, the image doesn't show up, just the red X for a missing image. I
thought maybe if I copied it from the common server to her C drive and
brought it in from a local drive, it would work but alas, no such luck.

The second person was able to load it in his sig in the editor and when he
starts a new message, he gets an ActiveX error, which he clicks out of and
the image is there. But who wants to have to do that every time? I checked
his security settings as well, enabled what needed to be enabled (I assume)
and it still happens.

Ok, here's the kicker. When Person A replies to an e-mail from Person B, she
gets an ActiveX error warning! None of the rest of us are having these
problems.

Any ideas?
