I moved all my contacts from a subfolder to the main contacts folder. Now
when I click on the activities tab I get the following message: "Outlook
cannot display this view. You need to reset your folder group. Right-click on
the folder, click Properties, and then on the Activities tab click the Reset
button. The operation cannot be performed because the object has been
deleted." I followed the directions but I still get the same error message.

Sounds like there's more to this story. How did you move these Contacts? How
are you resetting the Activities?

I highlighted all the contacts (Alt-A) in the subfolder and then dragged them
onto the main contacts folder. I reset the activities in the main contacts
folder by by "Right-click on the folder, click Properties, and then on the
Activities tab click the Reset button."

There's still something missing here. Why did you need to move these
Contacts? Have you tried any of the routine maintenance procedures like
repairing your data file, resetting your views, or creating a new profile?

I was having trouble syncing Outlook with my new phone so the phone tech was
having me do lots of importing and exporting of my Outlook file. After I
finished with them I came across this problem but I was able to fix it in the
subfolder. I have no idea how I fixed it I did so many things.
I created a new profile with the .pst file I copied before I moved it and
had the same problem. I have been hesitate to try other procedures because I
don't want to do any permanent damage to the data file.

So I suppose you thought we didn't need to know any of that other
information and could just magically fix your problem? You never import and
export Outlook data unless you want to lose or corrupt it.
Did you back up your data file before you started following this misguided
advice? Did you even try to repair the file?

I copied the .pst file that was working when it was in the subfolder. I just

I'm not surprised. Now you understand why we post daily in no uncertain
terms that you do not export or import Outlook data. So I assume you do not
back up your data? That would be a good habit to acquire.
You can try creating a new profile. If that doesn't work, create a new PST
file and copy what you need from your old into the new. No matter what you
do, your activities are toast, but you will at least have folders you can
reset again.
