Activity Plan Task fields mandatory

Heya,

Am new to Project Server and only healping out this week as the lass who
configured it is on holiday.

When adding tasks to an Activity Plan, it is mandatory to add the "Resource
Name".
I would like this a non-mandatory field so the activity plan can be saved
and the resource added later.

I am figuring there must be checkboxes somewhere allowing me to define which
task fields are mandatory, but can't for the life of me find it.

TIA,
Sanj

On our own Project Server 2007 system, I just creaed a new Activity plan
with tasks that have NO resources assigned. I was able to both save and
publish the Activity plan. Out of curiosity, why do you say that the
Resource Name column is mandatory? Do you see an error message or warning
dialog of some kind? Let us know.

Heya,

I feel kinda stupid now, but you're right ... I can save a task without
assigning a resource.
I think maybe what was happening is that I was leaving the "In Progress"
column blank as well ... which brings up the:
"Invalid Value specified for a custom field."
error which I was seeing yesterday.

Hmm ...

Out of interest, is there any way to define fields and set them
mandatory/optional for a project?

Thanks,
Sanj

Your Project Server administrator can define custom enterprise fields and
make them Required. Hope this helps.
