Why my actual and planned start date is synchronized after I click the
publish close task updte button in project center. So if this is the
behaviour how would I track the planned start date after I click the publihed
button? Thanks!

Hi Popskie,

Before beginning to track progress on your schedule, you should save
a baseline to preserve the scheduled start, scheduled finish,
scheduled duration, work and cost into the baseline start, baseline
finish, baseline duration, baseline work, and baseline cost. See
Help in Project Professional for additional information on
baselining.

In the future, questions about Project being used with Project
Server should be posted to the project server newsgroup -- not the
developer newsgroup.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
