Actual and remaining hours

We want the users to enter remaining work only. So we selected the '%
complete' tracking option. Now though the actual hours field is disabled for
the ongoing tasks, the timesheet still allows the users to enter the actual
hours for the tasks which are complete. If accidently the user changes the
actual work field, there is no way to revert back the changes he has
made...Any way out of this?

Only the new tasks will use the method u have updated...however the old ones
whether they are complete or not will keep using the old method..... You
cannot stop the resources from updating the actual work for old tasks
...however the PM can reject the changes if in case he finds something
wrong.... or maybe he can change the % work complete field in project
professional.....These are all work arounds..... maybe it can be of help...
