Actual Hours Lost?!

We are running MSP 2002 Pro and Server. I have a project that has several admin type tasks assigned that resources report hours against on a weekly basis. I then pull reports out of the Cube for use in the Portfolio Analyzer. Well, all of the sudden one of the tasks shows no actuals for the year, zero % complete and the start and finish dates were showing last year instead of this year. Previously this task had shown at least 50 - 60 % complete. Resources timesheets show correctly but the Analyzer report does not. We can pull the data directly from the timesheet tables for accurate reporting. The question is what happened to the actuals for that task and can they be recovered? Also makes me wonder how many other projects may not be in synch with the timesheets.
