Actual Material Usage

Hi,

I have defined a task. I assign 2 Material resources viz. MatA (2ft) &
MatB(4ft). Now i have a problem. How do i track the actual usage. i.e
if suppose instead of 2Ft only 1Ft of MatA is used how do i track that.
I tried adding the Actual work column, but it does not allow me to add
anything. If i view the resource usage it shows Work, but Actual work
is not populated how do i do that.
I short i want to track the planned materials vs Actual Materials.

Insert the Actual Work row in the Resource Usage view : Format / Details...

Thanks for reply,

That is done but how does it get populated. You know we enter the
%complete which is for work complete. but if i say the work is
completed 100% but instead of planned usage of 10 units of materials, i
have used only 6 units how do i track that. I just wanted to track my
planned materials vs actual material consumed. So as we have Planned
date and actual date, can we have Planned resources and Actual
resources.

Hello,
In the Actual Work yellow cells, in the Resource Usage view, enter ... the
Actual Work. That's all. Don't enter the %Complete ! (Project could not know
how to spread it)
