Actual Start Date and new estimated completion date

Hello:

I am entering in information on Actual Start date and MS Project is then
changing the date in the start date column. How do I make MS Project stop
doing this?

Hi Derrick,
You can't. Once you supply an Actual Start the Start date will change.
Assuming you saved a baseline before tracking, your "planned start date" is
saved in the Baseline Start.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Derrick,
You don't and you don't want to either. Think about it. If a task
actually starts on a different date than the projected start date,
shouldn't the projection be updated? Maybe you are confusing the Start
(an estimated and variable date) with the Baseline Start (a fixed date
used for measuring performance).

Hope this helps.
