Actual Start Date

I inadvertently approved some actual hours (submitted using Project Web
Access), causing the Actual Start date to populate on an activity. I zero'd
out the hours using PWA Resource (Admin) function to correct. Actual hours
went back to zero, but Actual Start date did not return to "NA".

Is there a way I can get the Actual Start date to return to NA?

Perhaps this has something to do with how the hours are corrected (typing in
a zero vs. versus deleting the hours).

you will need the PM to open the project and reset it to NA.

If you approve and updated dirty actuals into your project, the easiest
method to reset the Actual Start date is to do the following:

1. Open the project
2. Apply the Gantt Chart view
3. Right-click the Duration column
4. From the shortcut menu, select the Insert Column option
5. Select the Stop field and click Insert
6. For the task in question, set the date in the Stop field to a date one
day before the task was originally scheduled to begin
7. Right-click the Stop column and select Hide Column from the shortcut
menujk

The above set of steps will put the task back in its original state. After
doing this, you should republish the assignments for that task using the
following steps:

1. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
2. In the dialog, choose the Selected Items option from the pick list at
the top of the dialog
3. Select the "Overwrite actual work entered by resources" option at the
bottom of the dialog
4. Click the OK button

The last set of steps will restore the assignment to its original state
before dirty actuals were entered. Let us know if this helps.

Thanks Dale. We've temporarily disabled before to correct actual hours that
are submitted (and approved whoops) against summary level elements.
