Actual updates for a no longer existing task

Dear Project Server experts,

in our production environment of Project Server 2003 SP1 and Project
Professional 2003 SP1, we encounter the following problem:

A certain resource always seems to be updating actuals for a task that no
longer exists, although she doesn't enter any actual on such a task.

We did not forget to republish the assignments for the related project.

What could the reason be, and how can we solve the problem?
Can we avoid encountering this problem again?

What happens when you accept the update. Do you get a message saying that
not all task updates could be completed?

If so, there might be some pending update in limbo. I would suggest saving
the plan as an mpp file and then deleting the project from the server
through PWA Admin>Clean up project server database. This should clean
anything out there in the database that is related to that project.

You can then re-import the mpp file and re-publish it. You should not lose
any data.

Hi Jonathan,

We do not receive such a message. Do you suggest to try to save
offline/delete project from database/reimport/republish anyway, or is
another approach necessary in this case?

Thanks for your time,
Marc
