Actual Work and Actual Work

Newbie

Hello,
What is the difference between Actual Work and Actual Work?
In the "Summary" view of the Project Center, we can insert several fields,
among them there are Actual Work and another Actual Work ("Travail réel" in
the French version)
I inserted the 2 Actual Work fields in the Summary view:
- The first one displays the expected values
- The second one is empty

Could somebody explain the difference between these 2 fields?
Thanks in advance

Hi Newbie,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I don't have Project Center, but there should be only one field with that
name; I suspect that the empty Actual Work field is a created one. Open the
project on your PC, double click the heading in the Gantt Chart view. You
should see a dialog box which lists the Field Name and the Title - if the
Title is Actual Work and Field name is one of the customizable fields, then
you have a created field and not the in-built Actual Work field.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Hi Mike,
These Actual Work fields appear in the Project Web Access view named
"Project Center"
I didn't create any custom field with this name...

Could this be "Actual Work Protected" ?
Maybe if you expand the second column you could see this ?
