Actuals column blocked

Hi,

I am experiencing a odd problem. All tasks from different
subprojects are published to the project server. Now,
when some of the team members want to update their time
sheet, the actuals column on the right-hand side of the
sheet is blocked, it can't be updated, whereas other team
members can update that column. The users who can't
update the column can, however, update the "actual work"
and "remaining work" on the left-hand side of the
timesheet.

I would like to have all users updating the actuals on
the right-hand side of the timesheet.

The problem doesn't have to do anything with the "work
not scheduled for this period". I already checked that.

Thanks in advance.

If what you are requesting is your organization's methodology for tracking
project progress, then you will need to ask your Project Server
administrator to first do the following:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click the Admin menu
3. Click the Customize Project Web Access link
4. Set the default method of tracking progress to "Hours of work done per
day or per week"
5. Set the Lock Down Defaults value to "Force project managers to use..."
6. In the Time Periods Settings section, select the "Resources should
report their hours worked every day"
7. Click the Save Changes button

Doing the above steps will require every team member to enter their actuals
in the timesheet on the right side of the View My Tasks page. Once your PS
admin has done the above steps, EVERY project manager must open EVERY
project, click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments and then click
OK. Doing so will "push" the new method of tracking to each user's
timesheet in PWA. Please note, however, that any task for which actuals
have already been entered must be completed using the former method of
tracking. Only unstarted tasks will receive the new method of tracking in
the timesheet. Hope this helps.
