AD account deleted by mistake, Project Server doesn't accept the newone

Hi folks, here is my scenario. We have Project Server 2007 SP1 and
using Windows authentification for users to log into their PWA / MS
Project Professional applications. One Active Directory account was
deleted by mistake by our sysadmin and unfortunately that account
belongs to user who owns lots of projects and timesheets. Although
sysadmins created new AD account for this user, Project Server does
not want to cooperate with the new one. I am afraid that it is looking
at the UID of the old user which is no longer existent. Is there a way
to attach the Project Server account of this users to his new AD one
without the hassle of purging and re-creating in in Project Server?
Thanks for your help!

Riso...

Do you try to create a new user with the new AD account and in the project
center edit the properties of the project in order to change the project
owner.

Well first of all I can not even purge the account of this person and
create a new one tied to the new AD account because he is the owner of
many projects and timesheets. I am trying to avoid the process of
reassigning all his properties etc... This person also has time
reported against his project tasks and once I purge his account all
hours will be lost. I am trying to avoind all that.

Somewhere in the database there must be UID fiels for AD integration
for every account and I am trying to figure out where and how to
change it.
