AD resources not unique ??

How is EPM acting when you import a user with the same displayname as one
user already exist in EPM? By example we have users with the same
(display-)name in different AD Domains (regions).

I did some test with two different users with the same displayname in the
same AD.
IN EPM both names becomes synched with the suffix (domain\userid) between
brackets!

Any idea where these comes from? could this been grapped somewhere else from
AD or if this is some EPM behaviour?
And why are both users suffixed? I would think the first is imported like
all other users with no suffix and the second is expanding to avoid
duplicates!

Knowing why is important because unique usernames are a requirement for the
decision of we could use AD synchronisation which will improve our user
administration.

I believe the sync process uses AD GUIDs to register resources. If GUID
already exists in Res Pool, then it must be the same user. All AD users will
have a different GUID (but could share the same display name).

This is only my guess, and by no means a definitive answer.
