AD Sync Error 457

C

ConfusedMCDBA

We had Active Directory synchronization working, and it went just fine.
However, recently it started failing, and posting this event to the log:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Microsoft Project Server Tracing Eventlog Provider
Event Category: None
Event ID: 2
Date: 4/28/2006
Time: 12:32:06 AM
User: NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE
Computer: [ProjectServer]
Description:
Component: AD Connector
File: AutoADProcess
Line: -1
Description:
AD Res Pool Sync - Internal Res Pool
Error : (457)This key is already associated with an element of this
collection

I have not been able to find anything about this and AD synchronization. We
are running Project Server 2003 SP2a.

Unfortunately, I have already tried #910819, and I've reasearched the 457
error, but I still can't find a solution as it pertains to my particular
error.

It appears to have gone away. We had a user that we thought was causing the
issue, so we deleted every mention of him that we could find. It did not
seem to help. However, it appeared to us that the ADS synchronization was
actually working, even though it was erroring out, and I also could not find
any information, so I gave up trying to resolve it (and moved on to resolving
all of the other Project Server issues). When I checked it just now, no
error!

So, my best advice is that if you have any user account you think isn't
working correctly, remove it from all PS groups, and then delete any
refrences you can find in PWA.

I have no idea. We got lucky in that we had only added one user recently,
and he was having wierd issues. You might look at the most recent users or
groups added.

You might try seeing if synchronization is actually working. i.e. add or
remove someone from a group and see if PWA picks it up.

How can I delete the references in PWA? On PWA=>Admin=>Manage Users?
I can only inactivate them...
