Adapt Works disk to Office XP Pro

Back-up disk make in MS Works will not open on my XP PC.
HP Media Center PC came loaded with Corel. I installed MS
Office XP Professional and still can't open either word
documents or spread sheets. How do I adapt Works to open
on Word? Also Old spread sheets to now open in Excell?

This may depend on version of Works
When you say Backup disks I assumed you meant copies and not any proprietary
backup software

You can try your luck with any Works file converters you can download from
www.officeupdate.com, but opening Works files has never been a strong point
with Office. You're best to save from Works to a portable file format that
can be opened by other programs.
