add a pivot table make file size too big, why?

when i try to use the "number" function in excel 2008 to make a pivot table,

after i make it and save the excel file..the file size are so big...



in PC..normally it just around 6mb but in MAc excel..it increase to 70mb.



help.

Hi,

I will need more information than that to understand the problem you're
seeing. Can you please tell me what you mean by "number function"? Would it
be possible to give me the exact scenario that's leading to these large
files? For example, a workbook with 10,000 rows and 100 columns of data,
what is the range from which the pivot table is created, and what file
format is the workbook saved to (.xls, xlsx, etc.)? If you have a file you
could share with me, that would help too ([email protected]).
