Add Connection Points to a Shape?

I find that I want some shapes to have multiple connection points on one
side of a shape. Can I add extra connection points to the side of a shape?

I don't understand what you are suggesting. I don't see any options that
make the connection line glue to the shape.

The connection tool appears to glue to the shape if you attach it to a red
square connection point. While it is possible to place the end of the
connection line anywhere, including somewhere along the side of a shape, it
is not glued unless you make the connection line end attach to the red
square. I want it to be glued. So I guess what I am asking is how do you
add more red squares to side of shape? For example I have a rectangle with
four red square on the middle of each side. I want to add more connections
points so that I have two per side to have eight red squares on the shape.

I just googled a bit and found the answer that you were implying and that I
didn't understand when I previously replied. I found the "Connection Point
Tool".
