Add Context Menu Item For Attachments

J

John Schneider

I've developed a VB script to perform some special processing on certain
files. I discovered the registry keys needed to add this script to the
right-click context menu in Windows Explorer in the file pane. Now I'd like
to give the user the same right-click option for attachments in Outlook 2003
messages.

What registry key(s) do I need to add to have this item appear when
right-clicking on an attachment in an Outlook message?

Thanks

Hi

When we are programming with Outlook, we leverage the Outlook Object Modal.
So far the Outlook Object Modal did not exposed such an interface.

Also here are some information for your reference.

Peter,

Thanks for the response, but that isn't what I wanted to hear! I will never
understand why Microsoft does things the way they do. You would think that
they would want to make things easier for the users, but here again, they
force you to do things "their way".

This really, really sucks. Based on other postings I've seen, there are a
lot of people who would like this functionality, and it would be very simple
for MS to implement.

Hello John,

Thanks very much for posting your concern. As we all see, this feature is
not exposed to public yet. From community replys, I understand that you
need it very much and we are glad to pass your feedback to our product
feedback team. They will analyze it and take actions according to the

There is currently no way to do this, but keep an eye out for it in the
future. We are looking at continual improvement, and it's this kind of

Keep the information coming. Thanks again.
