add custom autolayouts in Powerpoint?

I need to have the ability to either create new or modify existing
autolayouts so my audience can simply select a "chart" slide or "graphic"
slide when creating a presentation. Any ideas how to do this?

Since you can't create your own slide layouts or modify the ones that are
offered, you might want to create "sample" slides that are layed out the way you
want and then include user instructions for duplicating and editing a sample
slide when needed. You can set these sample slides as "hidden" so that they
won't show up in Slide Show mode if the user forgets to delete them when the
presentation is completed.
