add custom cost field to portfolio analyzer cube

Dear all,

I defined a custom enterprise cost field per task, which is a "budgeted
value". This cost value is rolled-up through all summary task.

I would like to use this custom cost field in the portfolio analyzer
views (Project20007). In particular, I would like to create a view with
time [years] as row field and the custom cost field as data field.

How do I do that? All cube, that do contain my custom field are
non-timephased.

Hi Riko,

there are 2 components to your requirements. Firslty you will need to
associate your task custom field to your cube which you can do under Server
settings > under the cube section > use configuration. You fill see the
custom field under measure and you will need to move them to the right hand
side to be included in your cube. Rebuild the cubes and you should see the
field in your cube.

What you cant do is measure the cube by time. This is becuase your custom
field is not an assignment field. Only assignment fields can be filtered by
time.

That much I already did, so I have my custom cost fields already in the
(non-time phased) cubes.

What exactly is an assignment field. The regular cost fields are readily
available in the cubes (those of course are usually 'calculated' by
resource assignment - is that the trick?). I suppose setting the the
'Calculation of assignment rows' to roll-down in the field definition is
not going to help me any, is it?

If that can't be done with the (PWA) cube configuration, can it be done
by some programming on the sql side?
