When you publish your project, by default, the system creates a Project
Workspace for your project. You will see the name of the project in the
Project Workspaces section at the bottom of the PWA Home page. When you
click the name of the project in the Project Workspaces section, the system
opens a new Internet Explorer window and displays the Home page for the
Project Workspace. Click the Project Documents link in the Quick Launch
menu on the left and you will see the default Document Library for your
project. Into this library, you can upload files, documents, and pictures
and attach them to tasks in the project. Your team members can then see
these documents from either the My Tasks page or by navigating to the
Project Workspace. Hope this helps.

Hello Dale,

You wrote that I can attach files for a specific task. How ? and is it
possible to
do that also from MSP or just from PWA ?

Thanks

After you begin the process of uploading a file to the Project Documents
library in the Project Workspace, the system displays a Project Documents
page that contains a Link Items button on the toolbar at the top of the
page. Click this button and the system displays a dialog that lists all
tasks in the project. You can select multiple tasks to which to attach the
file. You can do this from within the Project Workspace in PWA, or you can
initiate the process from within Project Professional 2007 by clicking
Collaborate - Documents. The system displays the All Site Content page in
PWA directly inside of Project Professional 2007, and then you can click the
Project Documents library and upload the file and attach it to tasks in the
project. Hope this helps.

Thank you Dale, I never knew you could do that. That should prove very useful
in our environment.

Dale,

I have a twisted version of this question. I am creating a new site
template based on which all ProjectWorkspace sites will be created. The
project document library in these sites will contain subfolders and
documents/document templates within them.

In addition I am creating a Project Template. Tasks in the project Template
need to be associated with documents.

Now the twist. When I publish a project I need the tasks in the project to
be linked to documents that will exist in the site that will get provisioned
for that project. how do I do this?

Thanks,

Ranjan

I do not believe that what you want to do is even possible, but I will
gladly solicit the opinions of others in this group, even if I am wrong. :)
Hope this helps.
