Add icon to message List

Hello Guys,
Is this possible to add a field(an icon) to message list of inbox. Just
like attachment, flag or mail status icon(read/unread). IF yes, Please
suggest how.
I want to show a flag/icon on the selected messages.

I am using VS 2008 to develop addin(Shared Addin) for outlook 2003 and 2007.

If you want to set a flag icon on items then just set the flag properties.
If the items have a custom MessageClass you can set display icons (large and
small) for items of that MessageClass. Otherwise it would be Win32 API hacks
using all sorts of undocumented stuff.
