Add-in disabled after Outlok upgrade

I sometimes see that my Outlook add-in, while working fine on an Outlook
2000 installation, becomes disabled if I upgrade that installation to
Outlook XP or 2003, but if I then re-enable it, the add-in continues to work
okay and doesn't become disabled again.

It's an 'old style' Exchange Extension add-in not a COM add-in, and it's
without an ECF file.

Has anyone seen any similar behaviour?
