Add-Ins for Office 2007 Problem

Woody

Hi all,
I have an IQX databse that integrates with Word 2007 by putting an Add-In
which displays another tab in Word.
The Add-In installs fine but in the Add-Ins list it shows as unticked
everytime you try and link a Word Doc to the database. You have to manually
put the tick in and it then works.
Is there any way of making the tick a permanent fixture, so i dont have to
keep doing this all the time as it is not practical and takes up a hell of a
lot of time.
Thanks to all.

Hi Beth,
Hope the below helps:

The add in is iqx.dot, it is a little thing that sends a word document
(normally a CV) to IQX so that we can use the CV to populate the data fields
in the database and create applicant records.

Open word, click on office symbol (top left)

Select “word optionsâ€

Select “add-insâ€

On the drop down “manage†menu select “word add-insâ€

Select “goâ€

Either “add†the .dot utility or check the box if its already in the menu.

When the .dot file is selected, a new tab appears in word called “Add-insâ€,
the iqx.dot appears under cutom toolbar. Select this and the CV does go to
IQX and it works. The problem is word then closes, the tab disappears and you
have to “reinstall†the file every time you wants to use it. I’ve done this
as both a user and as administrator, simply can not get the file to remain
available.

Yes, it does help (thank you!) and it is how I suspected you were loading
it. :)

You're loading it manually so yes, you need to reload it each time Word
starts. To have the template automatically load, place it in one of the
Startup folders, either the \Office\Startup folder (in the installation
path) or the \Word\Startup folder (in your profile).

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email cannot be acknowledged.
