add item to combox box list

When adding a new item to a combo box list, does it have to be bound? Or can
I add it to an unbound box? If so is there an easy way to add it to a list
without having an message pop up asking if you want to add it to the list? I
would like to be able to just type in the text and have it automatically add.

This always happens. I figured it out!
