Add new view to Enterprise Template

P

Paul

Hi,
About a year ago we had created an enterprise global template to specify the
columns and views that all our MSP users would use. At that time we also set
up a Enterprise Template that laid out a standard task outline for each
enterprise project. PMs would use this task outline, (which relied on the
Enterprise Global) to construct their projects.

Well, we now have to edit this "Enterprise Template" and no one can figure
out how. Its easy to open the template, but how to you save changes back to
that template. When we save, we are asked to give it a new name. We just
want to update the template with a new view. We are logged in as the admin.

Thanks in advance,
Paul

Open the Enterprise Global file for editing and modify the View there.
After you save and close the Enterprise Global file, and exit and relaunch
Microsoft Project Professional, the latest changes will be visible in any
enterprise project. Hope this helps.

I think Dale might have misunderstood your question. To edit an Enterprise
Project Template, and save it back to the database under the same name, you
should first open and save it as an mpp file, make your changes to the mpp
file, delete the existing version of the template using Cleanup Project
Server database from the Admin menu, and then import the new version using
Enterprise Options > Import Project To Enterprise. Make sure that you
remember to select "template" as the type in the save dialog.
