add-remove program not working

when i go to control panel and click add/remove button it does not work at
all, it does not search for programs it competely stays blank. Any advice to
ways around it or how to fix it to remove lots of extra programs?

I would suggest posting the question in a Windows newsgroup rather than an
Office newsgroup.

Try rebooting and then doing your add-remove first thing after you get to
your desktop screen. Or just get up and do something else for ten minutes
and see if it returns. If still no joy try posting to the MS group for your
OS.
