Add resource without affecting existing allocations or time

Hi -
I have a task that is schedueld for 8 hrs per week for the next 6 weeks,
with 2 resources allocated at approx 14% of their 6 hrs /day time. The
manager wants to have addtional people helping with this task, but not change
the allocation of the original two. The actual work will generally exceed
the original 8 hrs, but the manager does not want that "plan" to change, she
wants to track actuals against it. How do I add the resource without the
work or duration changing for the originals?

Double click the task to bring up the task information dialog box. On the
"Advanced" tab, make sure that the "Effort Driven" option is NOT selected.
Now assign the other resources. The original assignments should not change.

Thank you -- When I assigned the addtional resource, I also had to delete
the hours that were allocated for her beyond the actual hours she spent. But
it worked.
