Add text on top of my own business card design background in Word

I have Word 2003 and a blank business card template for 10 cards. (i created
the blank template by clearing out one I was emailed that was done in Word
2003.) I've added a colorful design I like from clip art that fills the
whole card (I think). I would like to add just three lines of text, my name,
phone number and email address on top of the design, so that I can have
personal cards to hand out whenever appropriate. I prefer to type the text
right on top of the design so that the design can be seen. Is it possible to
do this? If so, how?
Every time I try to add a text box, it takes up the whole top of the page,
including the top 2-4 business cards. I can't figure out how to make it
smaller for each card and put text into it. Can this be done?
I know it can be done in Publisher, but I really don't want to buy it for
such a small project. I feel there must be a way to do it in Word 2003. Am
I right? Thanks for any help!
