Added font not recognized

I added a TrueType font to the Windows\Fonts folder, but
Word 2002 does not show it in the list of available
fonts -- why not?

The font in question is Marquee -- filename Marq.ttf,
39.5KB -- which I copied from the Windows\Fonts folder of
another computer running Windows 95. The machine giving
me the trouble is running Windows XP.

Hi George,

Did you restart Word after adding the Font?

Do you have a default printer in Word other
than Generic/Text?


There are several fonts with that name available
double click on the font in Windows Control Panel
or in Windows Explorer to see if the display name
is Marquee, or something else.

Thanks, Bob. Apparently the problem was my failure to
restart. The font is now available in Word 2002.
Interestingly, I also found the identical font available
in a separate desktop publishing program on my computer,
except that there it's called Showtime instead of Marquee.
