Addiing a Zero to a number which is already there

Hello,
I apologize if this has been asked before. I searched before posting it and
could find no trace of a similar query

I am using Excel 2003

I have lists of telephone numbers which have been entered in Column B, minus
the leading 0 (Zero) i.e. Instead of 01234 the number has been entered as
1234

I would like the correct numbers but as there are in excess of 10,000 of
them I would like to make the process as easy as possible.

In Cell A1 I have tried Custom formatting the cell with "0"#

Then when I type "1234" in Cell A1 the number appears in my cell following a
0 (Zero)

Not wanting to individually type all 10,000 numbers, I then tried entering
in Cell A1 "=B1" and all that does is to enter exactly whatever value is in
the cell B1, it does not place a Zero before the number, it just repeats the
contents.

Is there an easier way of getting all 10k numbers to have a Zero at the
beginning of the number?

TIA

If you select the range in question and apply your custom format it will
change accordingly
