Adding 10 years to a date

J

Jason K

I asked a question earlier with two parts. I figured out the date format. But
I am still having trouble adding 10 years to the date and having a column
show if it is within 10 years or outside 10 years from current date.

Eff. Date 10yr as 5/09
08/16/1997 ???? outside 10y
12/10/2001 ???? within 10y

Try:

Code:

=DATE(YEAR(A1)+10,MONTH(A1),DAY(A1))

Your formula in B2 would be
=DATE(YEAR(A2)+10,MONTH(A2),DAY(A2))
to add 10 years

The formula in C2 would be
=IF(AND(NOW()>=A2, NOW()<=B2), "Within 10", "Not Within 10")

Hi
Try,
place this formula in B2
=DATE(YEAR(A2)+LEFT($B$1,2),MONTH(A2),DAY(A2))

and place this formula in C2
=IF(B2>$C$1,"outside 10 yrs,","within10yrs")

make sure that your date in C1 is real date, otherwise its won't works
To format it to real date, right click >> Format Cells >> select date >>
choose mmm-yy
