Adding a custom field to the task form

I want to add a custom field to my task form so that I see more or different
priority levels.

I know I need to add a custom field - but HOW do I do that? I couldn't find
anything that would take me step by step.

Also - does this custom field show in my main task view? (when I double
click on the task and I'm inside the task, will this custome field appear
there?)

Thanks!

Adding a field to the folder view is quite easy: Right click on the column
header of the folder, click Fieldhooser, add the new field, and drag it onto
the column header. Here you cannot create dropdown-boxes.

It's a lot more of work to add it also to the task form (which displays when
you open the task); see this discussion:

Michael,

I'm not sure how I missed your reply, but thanks!

I'll take a more careful look at those steps...looks a bit complicated, but
I'd like to learn how to do it...

I took a quick glance at your instructions and it seems that you cannot
change page 1 (main page) of a form. So in other words when I click on task
if I want to use the new field I will have to click away from the main page,
right?

Exactly. You cannot edit those pages that come with a DatePicker.

Michael,

Based on your instructions, I was able to add a custom field both to a
contact form, and to a task form. Thank you!
