Adding a Day to a Date entry

I'll preface this by saying I'm new to Excel...

Is there a way to automatically have Excel add the day of the week to a
date entry in a cell?

For instance, if I enter 9/14/04 in a cell, is there a way to have Excel
add the day of the week prior to the date without manually typing it so
I'd end up with Tuesday 9/14/04?

Thanks for the help.

Sure. Dates in excel are stored as integers and decimals (fractions of a
day). Suppose the date is in cell A3. In the cell where you want the next
day, type "=A3+1". It may be necessary to format the new cell as a date.
