Adding a function

I am trying to add a function in project that will calculate a task finish date by adding the remaining duration to today's date

I have added funtions to Duration1, Text1 and a few other fields but nothing seems to be working.

Ex.
in the customize field text1 I have typed in the function:
Date()+[Remaining Duration] and get a value of Sat 4/5/08 on a 3 days duration task that started today with 0% complete

Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm not exactly sure what you are doing or why you are doing it. Isn't
the field "Finish" computed automatically by Project good enough for this?

Have you tried the calculation options :

Tools / Options / Calculation
- Move end of completed parts after Status date...
- Move start of remainning parts before Status date...

Hi Ro
thanks for the suggestion but I need to show and finish date that is calculated on a remaining duration. The Finish field doesn't adjust for being ahead or behind based on the % complete .
