Adding a new connection point to a shape

R

Ryan

Hi,

I am trying to add a new connection point to a shape. I
followed the instructions in the help (see below). It
looks like it works, it adds a new connection point to the
shape. However, when trying to connect a conncector that
new connection point I just made, it doesn't snap on to
the point. In other words it looks like a connection
point is where I added it (a little purple x) but does not
seem to work; nothing snaps to it. (I tried making it an
Inbound connection point, as well as outbound and inbound
& outbound together - none of them seemed to work).

Any suggestions or possible reasons why this is not
working?

Thanks for any help you can give!

Instructions for adding a new connection point from the
help:
Select the shape to which you want to add a connection
point.
From the Standard toolbar, choose the connection point
tool ().
Optional. If you are adding an Outward or Inward & Outward
connection point, choose Tools > Options. On the Advanced
tab, check Run In Developer Mode.
Do one of the following:
To add an Inward connection point, hold down the Ctrl key
and click on, inside, or outside the selected shape's
boundaries.
To add an Outward connection point, hold down Ctrl+Alt and
click on, inside, or outside the selected shape's
boundaries.
To add an Inward & Outward connection point, add an Inward
or Outward connection point. Right-click the connection
point, and then choose Inward & Outward.
Optional. If you want 2-D shapes to connect at an angle,
drag the connection point to the angle you want.
