adding a non-database related field

Shalini

Is there a way to add a field (tickbox) to the front-end Infopath form
without requiring it to save in the database (ie not bind to a field)?
Ideally, I am trying to make this checkbox activate or deactivate a section
which is bound to the database, so I would need the checkbox field to save as
checked or unchecked in the form, but I do not want to save it as a field in
the database

Hi Shalini,
You can add fields without binding to database.
you need to add that field to your schema.

I assume the fields that are binding to your database are part of an
auxilary DOM, correct?

If so you can create another field and make it part of the main DOM. You
will still be able to build rules etc on this new field.
