If you're not looking to create a new window, but rather
have the info change on the same page, there are many
ways. DHTML or iframes.

You can set the iframe to a specific size and the border
to zero and no one will know that's what it is. You have
to design a separate web page for each item, though.

like to add in pop up boxes which bring up a smaller box
in the corner of your web page, containing information
and/or photos of the item you have clicked on in the main
page.
