Adding a signature to my messages?

Using Entourage 2004, I created a signature, though it does not
display when I create new messages.

I have to select Message > Signature > My signature

How do I set it up so that it inserts this signature into every new
message by default?

Go to Tools --> Accounts... and double-click your account. Set the
default signature under Options.
