Adding a site to the Favorite

Hi.
I am using Outlook 2007 and in the very left navigation pane,
where you find short cuts like calendar, contacts and favorites.
Here I can drag a web site to the field and it saves a link to the
page that can be viewed in the pane to the right. Fine!

Now I have made a simple htm page that I saved on a shared
folder. However, it seems not to be possible to show it in the
same most right pane? Why? If i try clicking it, it opens a new
window in IE? How can I have this appear inside Outlook in
the right pane an not in a new window?

When the file is not on a web server, its treated as a file, not as a url to
browse. For it to open in the pane it needs to use the http:// protocol, not
file://

OK- thank you. I guess we just have to put the file on a web server.

When the file is not on a web server, its treated as a file, not as a url
to browse. For it to open in the pane it needs to use the http://
protocol, not file://
