Adding a view in the resource availability section

Ratnadeep

Hi,

We are trying to track resource usage in various ways. e.g project
wise,resource wise,day wise,availbility for the project,total availability
etc. For that we are following tghe following steps:
Resource->Select the set of reources based on departments->View availbility.
It gives us data on:
Assignment work by project
Assignment work by resource
Work
Remaining availbility.

In the details section for each relevant heading there are two rows: Work &
Avaibility. Can we add extra rows here e.g Planned work,Actual work,Remaining
availbility? Can we customise the detail section?

Also ,can we customise the views availble which comes after clicking the
"View availability " button? Is there any way to use outline codes anywhere
or add views anywhere ?

We are using MS Project server 2003 & project professional client 2003.

Any help is welcome.

Thanks,Ratnadeep,PMP

If you can open the Enterprise Global. Create a copy of Resource Usage,
click show in the menu and save it under another name. Then (with the new
view showing) right click on the right side of the screen. You can add about
6 rows on the short list. If you click on details styles, you will have the
open to add about 30 more rows of various values. For the number of values
you would like to show, I would suggest using different colors to increase
readability.

Save and close the Enterprise Global. when users sign in to MSPS 2003, the
new view will be avaialble to them on the view menu.

Hope this helps.

In the View Availability page in PWA, there is no way to add additional
custom Views or any other custom information. What you see there is what
you get, so to speak. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale & Ellen for the response.

Still have some query..

Ellen, where does the changes reflects? It is not reflected in the
availability section. Can you please provide some details? I have followed the
steps & also republished/refreshed each project (pressing F9).But nothing is
showing anywhere.

Dale,

The avail row always shows 0 for any resources. What does it mean? How to
get the datas we are looking for?

Total availability,Planned work,Actual work,Remaining work,Remaining
availbility on project wise, resource wise, time period wise. Any help?

Thanks,Ratnadeep
