Adding addresses from "Sent Items" to Contacts

T

Tom Perry

I was wondering if there was a way to easily 'import' addresses from my sent items into my Contacts folder/Address Book. I am using Outlook 2007 and do not have an Exchange Server, just POP mail. I inherited the computer from a previous employee and there are a lot of contacts that were never added to the Address Book. We need to build a distribution list of all our customers and such, and need a time-efficient way to do that. The easiest way I can think of is to go into the sent items and import the addresses (either selectively or all at once) and then just weed out the ones that aren't applicable. If anyone has a suggesstion of a simpler way to do this, or a compentant add-in that can help, please suggest. Thanks!.

You can right click on each address and choose add to contacts.
You can create a view with only the addresses visible and copy them to
notepad, save as a csv and import. (Won't work with multiple addresses in
the to or cc field - you'd need to clean it up in excel.)
See http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/addauto.asp for utilities.
