adding animated graphics

Hi,

I have Microsoft Powerpoint 97 and i was wondering how i
can add already animated pictures. I have tried saving
animated pictures from a website and inserting them on to
the slide, but they don't move. I have also tried
downloading motion clipart from the microsoft site, that
does not work either. Can some one help please
