Adding another linked table?

G

Geoff Taylor

I have a split database with tables located on the server and front end
forms and reports on each user's workstation.

I want to add another table to the back end.
I can easily add the table to the server back end.
However, I can't find how to add the table linked at the font end.

Any suggestions?

Using Access menus:

File
Get External Data
Link Tables

You will then have to choose your database. If it's an
access database, you will have to browse to it. If it is
some sort of ODBC database (such as SQLServer or ORACLE)
choose from File Types "ODBC Database"

Hope this helps!

I copied the new table to both the front end and the back end, then ran the
database splitter.
This produced a 'new' back end.
I then ran the linked table manager so as to link to the new table in the
old back end.
The 'new' back end was then deleted.
